Habitat
In damp wood upon a nearly precipitous slope of the Sibulan river.

Description
Small erect tree; stem subterete, 30 feet high, 10 inches thick; branches scattered above the middle, comparatively short, divaricately rebranched and horizontally spreading; wood soft, fibrous, odorless, with a sweet taste, white or reddish brown towards the center; bark smoothish, mottled, comparatively thick, yellowish brown beneath the gray epidermis; leaves thinly coriaceous, horizontally spreading, tips recurved, flat or only a trifle conduplicate on the sublucid upper surface; inflorescence ascendingly spreading all the stalks and buds green; the odorless flowers pendulous, the central basal portion rich purple, anthers (?) light yellow;.
