coriaceous or chartaceous, very dull green on the upper
tihallewly conduplicate surface, tips recurved, ashy gray
beneath« petioles aseendingly curved* blades spreading in
all directions; infrutescence erect# with ascending branch*
lets, 6 to 12 inches long# freely bfttaoiied* ail the stitles
grayish brown; acorns yellowish gray# globose except for
the thick basal stalk (?) the largsst ones less than 1/2
