Field Char: Treelet c. 10 m tall; bark dark
brown, slightly fissured, inner bark medium
brown and strongly grooved; leaves coriaceous,
dark glossy green above, grey green below,
fruit capsule light tan-green.
Notes: Nut shiny green. Very common in
collection area, many plants in fruit; photos
at BISH.
Locality: Morobe Province: logging road near
Markham Village, along the margin of Labu
Swamp.
Habitat: Lower slopes of buttress ridge, amoung
regrowth on recently burnt ground.
