Description
Small tree, stem 30 feet high, 10 inches thick, terete, branches from the middle with an elongated crown; wood hard, heavy, nusty white, brittle, odorless and nearly tasteless; bark brown, with whitish lenticels, branches freely re-branched, the greenish twigs ascending; leaves chartaceous ascending or horizontal, dull green on the upper nearly flat surface, recurved toward the apex, the young leaves yellowish green, descending and more or less folded on the upper side: spikes ascending, a few inches long, strict, arising from the apex of the second year old twigs, fruits immature.
