Description
Small tree; 16 feet high with an 8 inch thick stem; spreading branches forming a round topped crown; twigs slightly ascending, quite slender; wood murky white, soft, odorless and tasteless, light; leaves membranous, spreading, the younger ones grayish green and conduplicate on the upper side; the petloles yellowish green, terete: stalks of inflorescence and calyx yellowish green: corolla segments light pink, rotately spreading, deep red in the throat; filaments also pink; pistil yellowish; erect capsules green, deeply 5-ridged; bark easily pealing, greenish beneath the grayish brown lenticelled back epidermis;.
