Lat. 5 58 S Long. 149 55 E Habitat: Village garden (but occurs in lowland rain forest also). Annot. Small, much-branched tree (bu"6 may reach 80 ft. high with 40 ft. bole and buttressed).; Height 30 feet. Bark light grey, rather scaly. Inner bark dark cream Wood straw. Exudate absent. Odour bitter Leaves apple-green on upper surface; light green on lower surface; of thin texture. Flowers pink; lip with yellow tip. Local name Samulo. Fam/ Sterculiaceae Name* Kleinhovia hospita.
