146° 29.5’ long.
collection sequence 11339-11371; inverted epiphyte on trees
overhanging stream, common; leaves distichous, fleshy, adaxially
dark green, slightly lighter beneath; ligule toothed, hairy; sheath
pitted; petiole to c. 2 cm; raceme simple, axes red and puberulent;
perianth pubescent; calyx orange, tubular, 2 or 3 lobes, cleft on
dorsal side; corolla yellow, lobes sometimes red at apex, dorsal
segment cucullate, horn obtuse, solid, not prolonged; labellum
cleft nearly (but not completely) to the base; filament very short,
anthercells free at base, connective obtusely appendaged at the
top; stigma capitate, orifice ventral; ovary dull red, unilocular,
placentation parietal; fruit oblongoid, dehiscing on 2 shiny red
valves; seeds numerous, arilloid orange.
