  • Description

    Inflorescence upon a 3 inches thick recurved terminal stalk a few feet long, hard, green, rigid; the lower semicircles developing into green triangular about 3 inches long fruits which however do not mature; the balance of the flowers fall with the bracts, rigid spoon shaped, 3-5 inches long, about 2 inches wide across the middle, similarly reddish on both sides towards the apex and along the margins turning to a dark brown; odorless flowers whitish, except the upper corolla or perianth segments, which are yellowish, barely longer than 1 1/4 inch.
