Xizang (Tibet) Province, Bianba Xian: First pass from the city of
Bianba (Banbar) to Luolong (Lhorong) on highway 303.
30°45'40"N, 94°58'46"E; 4400-4440 m. Mixed shrub community
with tall (> 1-5 m) Rhododendron aganniphum, Salix, Sibiraea,
Spiraea, Potentilla fruticosa and Caragana jubata. Dry, grassy,
open areas between shrubs. Tree ca. 6 m tall; cones purple, borne
on branches from base to apex of tree, some close to ground level.
