Steep ravines with mixed Pinus glabra – hardwood (Acer rubrum, Carpinus, Fagus, Liriodendron, Ilex opaca, Liquidambar, Magnolia grandiflora, M. macrophylla, Ostrya, Quercus alba, Q. nigra; some mature) forest and understory with Illicium floridanum, Kalmia and Sabal minor. on fallen Pinus branch.
