Rock (light gray limestone) outcropping and low hilltop;
shallow soils; SSE exposure.
Shrub to 3-3.5 feet tall with similar spread.
Associated species: Pin us contorts, Eriogonum sp., Picea,
engelmannii, Populus tremuloides, Juniperus communis;
Carex hoodii
