FLORA OF ECUADOR Collected by L. P. Kvist 40429 Malvaceae Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L. det. P. Fryxell, 1988-90, on dupl. in QCA. Province ESMERALDAS Rio Cayapa, Zapallo Grande. 1 km upriver Rio Zapallo Grande from the right bank a trail led into the forest. Gradually strongly disturbed forest became replaced with primary forest. (78° 54’ W 00° 48' N) Alt 100 m. 29 Jun 1982 Shrub, 1.5 m tall. Petals red. Cultivated. Nom.
