Collector’s note. Is la Coronado has a volcanic cone at
the north end {alt. 278 m.), the large flows of red and black
rock extending out over much of a sandy spit to the southwest
where Salicornia, A triplex, Croton, Porophyllum and Per't-
tyle are abundant. The sparse vegetation on the lower rocky
flows is chiefly Gossypium, Pas si flora, Bursera epinnata, B.
microphylla, Jatropha cuneata and Lemaireocereus Thurberi.
Higher up, Aeschynomene nivea, Colubrina glabray Lopho-
cereus Schottii and Simmondsia come in. In addition, on
the main peak, are a few large, old Lysiloma Candida trees.
