The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Malvaceae Hibiscus acetosella Hiem det. M. Nee, 2007 Depto. Cochabamba, Prov. Carrasco, Entre Rios, along the highway from Buena Vista to Villa Tunari (“carretera nueva Santa Cruz-Cochabamba”), from the market and a few blocks east. 17°H’55”S, 64°32’10”W. alt. 795 ft. Former tropical lowland evergreen forest, flat, now all cleared for the town. Herbs to 2 m. tall, the whole plant purple, probably spreading from cultivation.
