FUI RENA Rottboell Fulrena striata Llanos Frag. Pl. Filip. (1851) 21 (sp. nov.) ; F.-Vili. & Naves in Blanco FI, Filip, ed. 3, 41 (1880) 14=FUIRENA CILIARIS (Linni) Roxb/'Lam.). Llanos’s description agrees perfectly with Fuirena ciliaris. The plant, agreeing with the habitat cited by Llanos, is a char- acteristic one of rice paddies. It is common and widely distrib- uted in the settled areas of the Philippines at low and medium altitudes. Illustrative specimen from Manila, Luzon, November, 1914 (Merrill: Species Blancoanae No. 173).
