Habitat
in moist soil of corn fields.

Description
Leaves mainly at the base, strongly recurved or lying upon the ground, soft, grooved above, much paler beneath; triangular stems dark green, smooth and shiny, more or less twisted; spikelets dark brown, usually curved.
