Plants of Angola Petalidium spiniferum C.B. Clarke Det. Erin Tripp & Kyle Dexter, 21 April 2017 Angola, Namibe 2.8km E. of Ruacana border crossing into Namibia as measured by the + that leaves Chitado. 17.35557 S, 14.22467 E. 928m elevation, red clay sandy soil with mopane and terminalia low rolling hillssub-shrub to 0.25m, mostly sterile but on plant with a few buds, big prominent spines, does not resemeble any other Petalidium that we have ever seen, flowers solitary in leaf axils, with no odor, reminiscent of P. coccinium group.
