Tradescantia zebrina Bosse

Zebrina pendula Schnizlein, Botr^eitung 7: 868,1849.
Tender, decumbent herb with weak semi-prostrate, creeping stems. Leaves ovate-
lanceolate, acute, alternate, about 3-5 cm. long, purple on the lower side, green above,
petiole tubular and sheathing the stem. Flowers purplish white, small.
Introduced ornamental which has escaped and is now frequent on exposed
rocks near the sea in the vicinity of villages (9726). English name, wander-
