Zebrina pendula Schnizlein, Botr^eitung 7: 868,1849. Tender, decumbent herb with weak semi-prostrate, creeping stems. Leaves ovate- lanceolate, acute, alternate, about 3-5 cm. long, purple on the lower side, green above, petiole tubular and sheathing the stem. Flowers purplish white, small.
