The New York Botanical Garden /¿Jl Plants of BOLIVIA Rubiaceae Pogonopus tubulosus (DC.) K. Schum. det. M. Nee, 2008 Depto. SANTA Cruz, Prov. Ibanez, on road to Planta Naranjillas petroleum station, 0.7 km N of Planta Naranjillas; 15.8 km (by winding road) and 10.9 km (straight line) SE from San José at turnoff from Santa Cruz- Samaipata highway. 18°00’33”S, 63°16’46”W. alt. 665 m. Hills on unconsolidated sediments, with dry forest of Ceiba speciosa, Trichilia claussenii, Cereus dayamii, Triplaris americana, Gallesia integrifolia, Anadenanthera macrocarpa, a few areas cleared for cattle pastures. Shrub 3 m. tall, 4 cm. in diameter. With some bright pink sematophylls; corolla darker purple at base, lighter pink- purple distally. Flowers visited by a hummingbird. Coll.: M.
