Hills on unconsolidated sediments, with dry forest of Ceiba
speciosa, Trichilia claussenii, Cereus dayamii, Triplaris
americana, Gallesia integrifolia, Anadenanthera
macrocarpa, a few areas cleared for cattle pastures.
Shrub 3 m. tall, 4 cm. in diameter. With some bright pink
sematophylls; corolla darker purple at base, lighter pink-
purple distally. Flowers visited by a hummingbird.
