plateau. Vashlovani State Reserve. Pantishara gorge, ca.
41°41'60 N, 44°45'3 E, ca. 300 m. (coordinates from hand-
held GPS). Dry gorge, on ravine cobble-stone. Satureja
hortensis, Elytrigia repens, Cynodon dactylon, Gypsophila
elegans.
Annual, up to 60 cm. Lower leaves ovate in outline, deeply
pinnatifid to pinnate; upper leaves decreasing in size,
Phyllaries elliptic, acute, striped green or purplish. Flowers
pink or light purple, exceeding involucre. Achenes cylindrical,
with suborbicular median basal hilum.
