    A subscandent looping shrub; stem hard nearly solid, smooth, green 1 inch thick, with nodes 1 to 2 feet apart (the old portion of the stem with a small tube which contains in the joints near the ground good drinking water); ultimate branches comparatively short, several from the same joint; leaves subcoriaceous or rather chartaceous, very smooth on both sides, rich green; inflorescence upon 1 meter long leafless branches; the flowers irregularly glomerate; spikelets small, green, sessile, ovoid; "Balogcawi".
