Phytogeogr- value: A tropical (pluriregional) plant,
reaching its northern limit in the southern part of the Mediterra-
nean region.
This species is never found in primary associations in
Palestine, nor, apparently, anywhere in the Mediterranean part
of its area. Its habitats in this country are vegetable gardens,
orange groves, etc. in the light soil district of the maritime plain.
