Phytogeogr. value : An Irano-Turanian species, penet-
rating into the Mediterranean region.
This plant, which is common in almost all parts of the coun-
try, is a component of the Batha in its Mediterranean parts and
a weed usually found in masses in barley fields of the Irano-Turan-
ian districts.
