    Tufts; stems at first declining, ultimately ascending, soft, shining green; leaves smooth and membranous, recurved or half drooping, the margins subinvolute, pleasing light green above, lighter green beneath; panicle soft, the stalks glaucescently green, and divaricate, empty glumes turning purplish; "Bareri;".
