MARQUESAS: Fatu Hiva; Motutui Islet; largest offehore islet on Fatu Hiva and
located on northeast side near Ouia Bay, 0—110 m elev. Pisonia grand is
coastal forest associated with native understory shrubs such as Chamaesyce
sachetiana, Sesbania marchionica and Waltheria tomentosa, an unknown
species of native bee was observed in the flowers of C. sachetiana, the
dominant native terrestrial herb was Rortulaca lutea, na
grass, woody stems creeping and branched, stems green or green-brown,
onbserved on north side of islet, some pabches as large as 100 sq m, awns
purple or white-green
