On steep, east-facing slope; oak-hickory canopy;
along intermittent stream flowing north into
Van Creek. Site #59 (Lat. 34o08f30tf; Long.
82°44,00”)j about one mile west of the Savannah
River. Below the 475-ft. contour (full pool for
proposed Russell Lake). Area to be impounded in
the mid-1980fs by the Army Corps of Engineers.
