  • Description

    Shrubs 3 to 5 m high; branches from above the middle, widely spreading, 3 inches thick; wood soft and fibrous; bark brown, rather thick and coarsely checked; leaves shining, pale green beneath, darker above, gracefully recurved, 2 inches wide, rigidly spinescent; syncarpis 2 inches long, at least 1½ inches in diameter, upon 2 to 3 feet long triangular peduncles.
