Description
Scandent; stems 3/4 inch thick very hard and wiry, not numerously branched, slender sparingly branched branches sub-deflexed; dark brown smooth, with rings 1 inch apart; leaves dark green above, paler green beneath, sub-coriaceous, peduncle short, 1/2 inch thick, terete, subtended by recurved, green and marcescently margined bracts, 1 to 3 inches long; the green immature heads hard, 3 to 5 clustered, all upon equally long 1 inch pedicels; Heads sub-terete, from 1 to 5 inches long in the same cluster, erect.
