  • Description

    A lofty tree climber; the numerous grayish white branches divaricate, forming tangled masses; leaves divaricately descending, chartaceous, flat, similarly dark green on both sides; inflorescence terminal, sub-erect, the flexible stalk yellowish-green; bracts thick, concave, the lower and larger ones somewhat greenish, otherwise nearly lemon yellow, deciduous and often remaining on the flowering stalk as dead black scales; spikes flowery, radially spreading, ascending, their stalks yellow; rather common.
