    scandent and numerously branched shrub,; stems 3/8 inch thick, wiry, hard, brown, branches divaricate or sub-deflexed, sparingly branched,;= the tips of the inflorescent stalks sub-erect; bracts of the inflorescence yellowish frequently a trifle red; flowers odorless; leaves coriaceous, descending, somewhat paler beneath; heads globose, 1 Inch thick, yellowish green when collected.
