stem 1/2 inoh thick, bendable, occasionally branched;
wood porous, whitish, odorless and tasteless; bark grayish
or yellowish so, gre^n beneath the epidermis: stem
crooked and knotty or obscurely spinose; branches laxly
rebranched, hanging* curved and with ascending tips,
forming hanging interlaced masses; leaves heavy, igKaJtk
pendulous, leathery, dark green above, very slightly paler
beneatfo , shallowly grooved along the upper side:
inflorescence ascending, the outer bracts greenish, the
inner ones deep yellow, stalks greenish, heads pale white;
slightly odorous; "Baganot#" Magellans, May, 1910*
