stems ascending, up to 1.5 tn. tall from a creeping or decumbent base, densely hairy
at the nodes. Leaf blades up to 30 cm. long, scabrous along the margins, sheath villous.
Spikelets about 3 mm. long, elliptic, in a large, racemose-panicle with ascending to spread-
ing branches.
Cultivated as a forage grass (9659). English name, para grass.
