Tree 40 cm. in diameter; bark smooth, gray, beginning to
branch at 1 m. above ground level.
Major veins purplish above and below; from a distance the
upper part of the tree does have a purplish tinge.
Many husks fallen to the ground, the husks reddish brown,
the fruit itself a shiny reddish brown.
