Mississippi River floodplain. McClure 7.5 minute
U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation about 340 feet.
Disturbed moist sandy loam; alluvial deposits.
Floodplain forest, degraded, dominated by Populus
deltoides, Acer negundo, Acer saccharum, Celtis
laevigata, Camp sis radicans. Locally common delicate
erect anual herb; corolla whitish with pale purple tint
(darkest at margins), short-fringed; mostly past
flowering; most common on the base of moist disturbed
banks in full (or nearly full) sun.
