BUTLER COUNTY 36° 33.70 N. Lat. 090° 31.88’ W.
Long. Neeleyville, south side of Missouri Route 142,
about 3,300 feet west of U.S. Route 67; elevation about
300 feet, [previous fieldbook locality was at ca. 0.5 mi
N of MO Rt. 142, Neeley ville. Note: Corkwood
Conservation Area is 0.25 mile west of Neeleyville on
south side of Hwy. 142].
Bottomland forest in landscape depression (old
sinkholes?), swamp margin, with Cephalanthus,
Liquidambar, Acer, Fraxinus. Female; locally common
clonal (suckering) tree with single stems, scarcely
branched, 0.8-2 meters tall, most with immature fruit, no
male catkins seen in colony (shed).
