  • Habitat

    Central California Foothills and Coastal Mountains, North Coast Range Eastern Slopes ecoregion. Manzanita, Oak, and Pine (Arctostaphylos, Quercus, and Pinus) chaparral woodland interspersed with creek gullies and dry open grassy meadows. Slight bowl-shaped valley surrounded by low, gently sloping hills. Surrounding a damed creek and man-made pond. Occasional springs and rock outcrops scattered across the landscape. This area burned in the 2014 Butts Fire 2 months after visit.
