Along access road to Tropenbos Reserve, 15 km S of
Mabura.
In Wallaba forest on white sand.
Tree, ca. 10 m high, dbh ca. 20 cm. No latex observed.
Leaves leathery, shiny above. Fruits very sweet-scented,
4-7 cm in diam., dark green at first, turning yellow
when ripe; outer wall ca. 1 cm thick, white on inside
but rapidly turning brown at exposure to air. Seeds
2-51-15), embedded in white, sweet-scented,
sweet-tasting pulp.
Separate: «wood (UW 34061); fruits in ale.
