  • Habitat

    In a 3 m area at the wet, mossy edge of the reservoir, direclty next to the wooden bridge. With Juncus, Scirpus, Hibiscus moscheutos, Urtica dioica, Rubus, Morella pensylvanica, and Liquidambar styraciflua.

  • Description

    Dozens of flowering stems. Stems thin and weak; leaves very small or fugacious. Flowers bright white, narrowly tubular, strongly modding with age; lateral sepals often held high. Dorsal sepal and petals forming a triangle when viewed head-on (with the tips meeting). Labellum apex acute, margin ruffled to highly lacerate. Plants frequented by an american Lady (Vanessa virginiensis) with sips (robs) nectar without removing pollinaria. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
