United States of America. New York. Jefferson Co. Along the parking-lot of Coyote Flat State Forest and in a wet ditch along Drake Road.

Habitat
Edge of woods next to parking-lot in weedy area. With Sambucus canadensis, Betula populifolia, Populus tremuloides, Asclepias syriaca, Cichorium intybus, lonicera maackii (?), Acer rubrum, Ulmus americana, Clematis virginiana, Alnus sp. Occasional in the area.

Description
Plants to 1.5 m tall, leaves slightly glaucous. Flowers bright red to orange-red, fadin gto yellow about 1/2 way towards the base; heavily spotted with brown. Strongly recurved. style light red. Anthers rust-red, filaments iory-white. Very striking. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
