Nesom var. pilosum [= Aster pilosus Willd.] ASTERACEAE Shrubby, basally branched herb 6ft tall, occasional, ray petals white, disk flowers yellow & becoming red-maroon. Growing in disturbed loamy soil (Merrimac - urban-land complex, 0-8% slopes; sandy, mixed, mesic Typic Dystrudepts), in a weedy, fenced yard for research plants (although this plant is wild here), just north of the Harvard University Herbarium Building at 22 Divinity Avenue.
