Federated States of Micronesia: Pohnpei. Kolonia. Growing
outside of the Quarantine Office, located near the visitor center and
the botanical garden.
Tree ~10m. Leaves entire to 1 or 3 lobed, red hairs on veins below,
veins above glabrous and lime green. Fruit dark lime green, 18cm x
12 cm, irregularly shaped, lumpy. Fruit surface slightly bumpy with
polygon processes slightly protruding but flat. The polygons are
large, ~lcm across. Fruits contain several seeds, fruit flesh is creamy
yellow. Peduncle attachment oblique. Seedlings growing beneath the
tree. White latex throughout. Local name Mei Kole.
