Garden of a house near the Milne Bay Airport terminal. 144° 7° 30’ S. 15’ E, Tree ~15m. Leaves, lobed 1/2 way to midrib, velcro-like pubescence above and below. Fruit, globose, ~16cm diameter, green, with flexible spiky processes. Fruit filled with numerous seeds. The older, larger leaf may be from a different tree. White latex throughout. Local name Kapiak. 45 seeds from this tree were sent to the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Hawaii for propagation. N.C. Zerega 88 T.J. Motley & D.R. Zerega 26 July 2000 04204190
