The New York Botanical Garden Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Fosberg Det. N.C. Zerega, 2000 Moraceae Papua New Guinea. Gulf Province: Edge of Kikori River between Kikori and Kopi. 144° 15’ E, 7° 30’ S. Tree ~20m, bending over the Kikori River. Leaves, lobed 1/2 way to midrib, velcro-like pubescence above and below. Fruit (12cm x 8cm), green, oblong, lumpy, surface with flexible spiky processes, with several immature seeds. White latex throughout. Local name Kapiak. BOTANICAL The New York Botanical Garden det.
