temperate rain forest of Nothofagus solanderi with small gullies and tussock scrubland with Dracophyllum, Cassinia, Leptospermum, Libocedrus, and Chionochloa; Macromitrium longipes common as epiphyte in mesic gullies on Nothofagus.
