thallus: areolate
areoles: thin, convex, shiny, ±round, grayish to brownish
medulla: I-
apothecia: to ±0.8 mm, black, adnate to sessile
rim: thick, persistent, shiny, smooth, weakly raised
epihymenium: ±blackish, POL+ inside, K+ ±greenish and bleeding yellow
hymenium: ±120 jmm, clear
hypothecium: red-brown, POL-
exciple: dark brown outside to brown inside, POL+ inside clearing 100% in K, K+
bleeding yellow finally turning ±orangish but no crystals
spores: 8 per ascus, 1-2-septate, hyaline to dark when overmature, becoming
