Habitat: Tall open mixed forest of mature eucalypts with
understorey of smaller trees (Acacia spp, occasional
Nothofagus), shrubs and ferns.
Associated taxa: Acacia obliquinervia, Nothofagus
cunninghamii, Eucalyptus regnans, Leptospermum
grandifolium, Olearia phlogopappa, Senecio linearifolius,
Dianella tasmanica, Polyscias sambuccifolius, Acacia
frigescens, Polystichum proliferum, Tasmannia lanceolata.
Descriptive notes: Rhizomatous fern with erect fronds to 0.8
m tall. Frond stipe and rhachis purplish to reddish brown.
Lamina darkish green above, mid green below. Sori pale
brown.
Collecting notes: Common.
