Thamnolia vermicular is (Sw.) Ach. ex
Grey lichen# Found on cliffs & holders w/
moss & other lichens. Closely related- from
a distance looks like flakes of bark or dead
pieces of grass. On closer examination it is
alive & growing. White linear strands ,
sometimes solitary, at times in groups of
3**i| strands, spreading from central root
or attachment- delicate & often breaks when
picked up. Each strand is flattened & comes
to a point. CCculd pass for worms.)
