    On a N-facing hillside of sandy loam, in open, shrubby semi desert coastal scrub. with Aesculus parryi, Agave shawii, Astragalus trichopodus, Bergerocactus emoryi, Bromus madritensis, Dendrographa lecuphaea, Dichelostemma capitatum, Encelia califonica, Jatropha sp., Marah macrocarp. Growing on old, dying or dead trunks and stems of Ambrosia chenopodiifolia & Lycium andersonii.

    Thalli extremely sorediate with clouds of "dust" rising off them when touched. Cortex: K-, C= (red), KC+ (red becoming yellow_, P-, UV-; Medulla: K-, C+ (red), KC+ (red becoming yellow), P-, UV+.

Roccella peruensis Krempelh.
ROCCELLACEAE
Growing on old, dying or dead trunks and stems of Ambrosia
chenopodiifolia & Lycium andersonii, locally abundant, thalli
extremely sorediate with clouds of “dust” rising off them
when touched. Cortex: K-, C+ (red), KC+ (red becoming '
yellow), P-, UV-; Medulla: K-, C+ (red), KC+ (red becoming
yellow), P-, UV+. On a N-facing hillside of sandy loam, in
open, shrubby semi-desert coastal scrub, with Aesculus
parryi, Agave shawii, Astragalus trichopodus, Bergerocactus
