    Large schist and quartz outcrops with ericaceous shrubs (Kalmia latifolia, K. buxifolia, Rhododendron catawbiense), young mixed hardwoods (Acer saccharum, Diospyros, Prunus, Sassafras), pine (Pinus rigida, P. pungens, P. strobus) and sparse Tsuga. on rock in overhang.
