PLANTS OF COSTA RICA Begonia skutchii Burt-Utley & Utley Prov. San Jose. 9.9 km SW of Rio Pacuare and 3.1 km N of Tinamastes in Fila Tinamastes along rd from Dominical to San Isidro, ca. 3200 ft, Terrestrial, saxicolous or terrestrial; rhizomatous, but with long runners. Petioles dark green above, lighter below; peduncles green suffused red; sepals white, lightly suffused pink with pink hairs externally; petals white; ovaries bright red-pink.
